The lawyer on your file
A lawyer reads every enquiry. Not a form.
Send us what happened and Shawn Sidhu reads it himself, then replies the same business day. The first conversation is free and there is no obligation.

See What Ontario Takes Off an Award
Most calculators quote a number and stop. This one shows the part nobody mentions. In an Ontario car accident claim, the law removes a fixed amount from a pain and suffering award, and cuts your lost wages too, before any of it reaches you. Move the slider, add your time off work, and watch.
$47,913 of that award never reaches you. Ontario removes it by statute, and the jury is not told it exists.
The deductible is larger than the award, so nothing under this head would reach you at all. This is the outcome most people are never told about.
Above $159,709 the statutory deductible no longer applies, which is why the whole amount reaches you.
Ontario does not let you claim the first seven days of lost income, and before trial only 70 per cent of the rest.
For motor vehicle claims where the injury is permanent and serious. Ontario subtracts a fixed statutory deductible from most pain and suffering awards in motor vehicle cases. Income lost after the first seven days and before trial can be claimed only up to 70 per cent of the gross income lost.
Insurance Act, s. 267.5; O. Reg. 461/96, s. 5.1(1); FSRA 2026 Automobile Insurance Indexation Amounts Guidance (AU0129DEC). Insurance Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. I.8, s. 267.5(1), paras. 1 and 2
The full estimator also asks whether you were partly at fault and whether a family member has a claim. This is an arithmetic tool, not advice and not a valuation. It applies Ontario's statutory deductible to figures you enter yourself. It does not know your case, it cannot tell you what your claim is worth, and nothing it displays is legal or financial advice or a promise of any outcome. Every case turns on its own medical evidence. Speak to a lawyer before relying on any number.
Impacting Lives Through the Power of Justice
Sidhu Injury Lawyers is an Ontario personal injury firm. We act only for injured people, never for insurance companies, and that is deliberate. Our work covers motor vehicle collisions, accident benefit disputes, slip and fall claims, long-term disability denials, catastrophic and spinal injuries, and wrongful death claims across Ontario, from Toronto and the GTA to Hamilton, London and Ottawa.
- No fee unless we win. Consultations are always free.
- You deal with your lawyer directly, not a file number.
- Home and hospital visits across Ontario.
- We advance case costs, so a claim is never held up by money.

We act only for injured people. Never for insurers.

Built to Take On the Insurers
Insurers handle thousands of these claims a year and they know most people will accept the first number offered. We build the file as though it is going to trial, because that is the only thing that reliably moves an offer. Medical evidence, income loss, future care costs, all documented properly from the start.

Straight Answers.
Real Advocacy.
You will be told what your claim is realistically worth and how long it is likely to take. No inflated promises to win the retainer, and no surprises eighteen months in.
To make sure an injury does not become a financial catastrophe on top of a physical one.
We take the pressure of the claim off you and put it back on the insurer, where it belongs.
We work on contingency, which means our fee is a percentage of what we recover and nothing at all if we recover nothing. We advance the cost of medical reports and experts ourselves. You will get a named lawyer and a direct line, and we will tell you when a settlement offer is worth taking and when it is not.
Three Deadlines That Decide a Claim
Ontario law puts a clock on every injury claim, and some of them are short. Miss one and a strong claim can end before it starts. These are the three to know before you speak to any insurer.

Why Long-Term Disability Claims Get Denied, and How to Fight Back
Most denials come down to a paperwork gap, a change in the policy definition of disability at the two-year mark, or surveillance taken out of context. All three are answerable.
