Brain Injury Lawyers in Ontario
A traumatic brain injury can be severe and permanent while every scan comes back normal. These claims are won on functional evidence and the observations of people who knew the person before, not on imaging alone.

How this actually works
The hardest thing about a brain injury claim is that the injury is invisible and the person describing it has the injury.
Concussions and mild traumatic brain injuries often produce normal imaging. Insurers use that. Meanwhile the person cannot follow a conversation in a busy room, loses words, sleeps badly, and has become someone their family does not quite recognise.
The evidence that carries these cases is neuropsychological testing and the accounts of people who saw the change.
Document the change, not just the diagnosis
What the person could do before and what they can do now. Employers, teachers, partners and friends provide the comparison that a scan cannot.
Neuropsychological assessment
Structured testing of memory, attention, processing speed and executive function. This is the evidence that stands up when imaging is unremarkable.
Address the pattern insurers rely on
Normal CT, no loss of consciousness, delayed reporting. Each has a well understood answer in the literature and each needs to be met directly.
Cost the long term
Brain injuries alter earning capacity and often require support that lasts. That has to be costed properly rather than guessed at.
What this costs you
We fight for the maximum compensation your claim will carry, and you do not pay a dollar unless we win.
Nothing up front. The consultation is free, we act on contingency, and we advance the costs of building the case so a claim is never held up by money. If we do not recover anything, you do not owe a fee.

Questions we get every week
Yes. Most mild traumatic brain injuries do not show on a standard CT. A normal scan rules out bleeding, not injury.
No. Loss of consciousness is not required for a traumatic brain injury and has not been considered necessary for a long time.
It is common and it is explainable. Delayed onset is well documented, though it does need to be addressed rather than ignored.
Yes, and that designation substantially raises the available benefits, which is why it is assessed carefully and disputed often.
That is typical and it is one of the cruellest features of these injuries. Brief social interaction is often preserved while sustained work capacity is not.
